Dear friends and ESD colleagues,

It is my pleasure to invite you to the 5th LTN UNESCO GAP Seminar entitled,

ESD 2030: Engaging with the SDGs in the Classroom and beyond

Understanding – Empowering – Participating –

taking place in Bonn, Germany from November 28th to December 1st, 2019.

The Learning Teacher Network, a Key Partner in the UNESCO Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD GAP 2015-2019) is delighted to announce this vitally important seminar in November 2019. It will address the achievements of the ESD GAP towards SDG 4 on Education and the Global Education 2030 Agenda. It will also provide an overview of the new framework Education for Sustainable Development: Towards achieving the SDGs (ESD for 2030).

Teaching is the first profession’ (Aristotle). If this is the case then teachers and institutions must have the best and most up to date models and methods to deliver ESD in a competitive and challenging learning environment. The UNESCO GAP Project through the implementation of SDG 4 (Education) have worked tirelessly to promote best practice in ESD globally.

The Learning Teacher Network (LTN), continues to work with teachers and educators around the world to promote this ESD vision of education as a means of creating and maintaining a sustainable world. However we need your help and support to progress this work. Please spread the word about this great UNESCO Seminar and encourage your friends and colleagues to join us in Bonn and become part of a sustainable global solution to climate change and human development into the future. ESD is the future of education and UNESCO along with the Learning Teacher network are leading from the front.

.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Dr. Martin Fitzgerald
